About
This is my first inspirational album and features many of the first works that were co-written by Michael Beckwith and myself. “Use Me,” “Make Me Stronger,” “Genesis,” and the title track, “I Found a Deeper Love,” are among other powerful songs from this CD that are long time favorites to thousands of people, many of whom will testify that this music has healed and lifted them into a greater awareness of what life truly is about.
At the invitation of Stephen Bray, a successful writer and producer of commercial hits for Madonna (and a great fan of mine), I entered this project with the support of Michael Beckwith and with the production talents of Stephen Bray and Michael Verdick. This CD is loaded with incredible musical performances from Bobby Lyle, Ndugu Chancler, Herman Jackson, Darrell Crooks, Reggie McBride, Niki Haris, Tina Meeks, and Pete Peterkin. It has stood the test of time and is a classic for all true fans to have in their BB Music Medicine bag.
When I finished the recording of this record, I was not pleased with my vocal performances. At the time, I had not completely accepted my voice and was hoping that all these talented people would make me sound real good. All they were really able to do was to support me in sounding like myself. Now that almost sixteen years (what!) have passed since this recording, I have grown to honor my voice, and to not just accept… but to CELEBRATE the way the music sang through me then and now. I LOVE this CD.
